Every Christian’s Purpose (no need to keep looking)

“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”  ― Robert Bryne Have you ever questioned your worth? Your purpose? Why you were born into this world in the first place?  I have. And more than once.  What do you have

What To Tell Yourself When You Wonder If You Are Enough

“We are all born originals—why is it so many of us die copies?” -Edward Young My early morning jog began as usual: cellphone on, earbuds in, audio version of Bible Gateway playing. Then I met her at the top of the

When You Want to do Great and Glorious Things (Delight God)

Can I be honest with you? I have a history of feeling I’ve not done enough or not done something well enough. In response, I strive to do more. In fact, if I’m not proactive, my daily to-do list becomes miles

I Want To Be Like Her! (live fully in who you are)

God didn’t create any one of us to be someone else. So why do we keep trying to do so? Begin to live fully by embracing who you are. For years I repeatedly strove to be a runner. I’d start strong. But

You Are Seen and You Are Needed (pass it on)

Although she assured me she liked it in the home in which she now resided, I could see it. I saw it in the way tears welled up as we visited. I saw it in her far away look as

The Reason What You Do Matters (even if it’s small)

Sometimes when asked what I do, I hesitate to say — at least about the writing part. I can easily point to the fruit of raising my children and editing. But the benefits of my writing … that’s less noticeable. At times

The Sign You’re Looking for Is Closer Than You Think

Have you ever missed a sign, and it’s left you confused, frustrated, and lost? I have. It happens, for instance, when I navigate for a particular son on road trips on a route he isn’t entirely familiar with. I forget he doesn’t know

Your Service Matters; What You Do Has Value

Today we honor the men and women who gave their life in service to the United States of America. And rightly so.  They deserve to be remembered. However, day to day, it can be easy to think we don’t have

Whisper Yes: What You Do Matters to God!

The very thing we think is less significant often carries the greatest importance.   When you whisper yes to changing one more diaper, to waiting on one more table, to reaching out one more time, to showing kindness to one more

Because We Won’t Ever Be Good Enough

Lately I’ve messed up in a couple near-and-dear relationships. My actions and words cut the beautiful hearts of my loved ones as I dealt with fatigue and a life that longs to overwhelm. And Satan wants to slap me with the Failure

Everyday Praise

We were created for praise! Cultivate the practice of glorifying God daily. Let your heart find rest in the shelter of God's goodness.

Thanks for stopping!

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I find it's easy for our day's BLESSINGS to get lost in its HAPPENINGS. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).

May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.

“We shall draw nearer to God not by trying to avoid the sufferings inherent in our lives, but by accepting them and offering them to Him; throwing away all defensive armor. If our hearts need to be broken, and if He chooses this as the way in which they should break, so be it.”
