In the Impossible, God Is the Possible (and A Prayer)
“There are 3 stages to every great work of God: First it’s impossible, Then it’s difficult, Then it’s done.” ~ J. Hudson Taylor
I’m great at dreaming big. The trouble lies in carrying those dreams through. Even when I’m certain God has placed the aspiration on my heart, I hesitate, the goal daunting in front of me.
I’m paralyzed by fear. Usually by the fear of failure. What if I don’t achieve it? What if I don’t do it right?
Because achieving big things generally requires a big effort. And I see my weaknesses. I weigh them against the tasks required and come up far short.
It’s all because I forget who I serve. My finite mind struggles to grasp the possibilities of an infinite God’s plan.

In the Impossible, God Is the Possible
Yet if God has placed the dream in my heart, then He will see it through.
- Where I see impossibility, God sees potential.
- Where I see difficulty, God sees growth opportunities.
- Where I see weaknesses, God says lean on me.
Through our eyes, much seems impossible. But faith can move mountains when placed in the God who created the universe (Matthew 17:20).

Has God placed an impossible dream on your heart for this new year? Rejoice! An adventure awaits you.
Step out in faith and obedience and trust your journey to One who knows no impossibilities.
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” (Matthew 19:26)
Reflection: Is there a God-sized, seemingly impossible dream you feel God is inviting you to be a part of this year?

Lord I believe–help my unbelief. I, too, am “part unbelief.” Yours is a sweet prayer for help, for trust, for the gift of joy! Happy New Year, friend!!
Full belief will come when we are finally standing in His presence, Julie. How wonderful that will be! Blessings to you and your family.
Oh Julie, it’s as if you have been listening in on my thoughts! Thank you for this encouragement and the wonderful prayer. I’ll be saying it!
So grateful God has used my words to encourage you, Cindy. Have a blessed New Year!
There will be both good times and bad times in our life, and in bad times, we must learn how to be stable in faith by observing the life of Job.
