When Hope Feels Uncertain

“This hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Romans 5:5 (HCSB)

Waiting used to be an eternity; now it’s just a blink. I used to beg for change to happen; now I ask for sameness. I used to pray for patience; now I request more patience. It seems everything has changed in the past two decades.

Twenty-one years ago. That’s when my first foray into motherhood began and ended in a 10-week rollercoaster, beginning with an ecstatic ride to great heights of anticipation and ending in an out-of-control descent to a shattered heart and empty arms.

Sorrow, anger, bitterness, depression, uncertainty, loneliness, all mixed to create a lethal toxin that slowly ate away all hope.

I lived a hollow existence.

That is until God gently but certainly nudged me into considering that there is hope in the hopeless.

I found you through Bonnie’s page today and I’m glad I stopped by, this is a beautiful testimony. Just beautiful. You are right, we cannot put our hope in or even look with the perspective of the world around us, be they experts or not. We must keep our eyes on Him and He will show us the hope in the midst of it all. Thanks.

We do like to “solve” our own problems, don’t we? But the Lord has the solution to every issue we’ll ever have. Wish I could remember that day to day.
